Insert Object Feature

To insert navigation onto your canvas, simply start by left clicking on the "Insert" button of the control panel. Once you have done so, the "Insert" window will appear. To insert navigation, left click on the "Navigation" icon.

To insert navigation you will have to make several decisions. Each decision is broken down into a 3 step process. Step 1: You must select your "Navigation Scheme". The available options are; "All Pages", "Sibling (Neighbor)", "Child (Subpage)" or "Parent (History)".

Note: Navigation of your website is how a website visitor goes from page to page within your site. When building your sitemap you must take into consideration how your navigation will work.

Once you have chosen your "Navigation Scheme", simply left click on the "Step 2 >>" button at the bottom of the page. Step 2: You must select your "Navigation Layout". The available options are; "Horizontal", "Vertical" or "Drop Down List". All options are not available for each "Navigation Scheme". After you have chosen your "Navigation Layout", left click on the "Step 3 >>" button at the bottom of the page. Step 3: You must select your "Navigation Style". The available options are; "Font Type", "Font Size", "Font Color", "Background Color", "Font Alignment" and "Font Settings". Simply make your selections just as you would for your text. You will notice that there is a "Style Preview". Within the "Style Preview" you will see a preview of your navigation based on your selections. Once you are complete making your decisions, left click on the "Finished" button at the bottom of the page. Your navigation will now be inserted at the top left of the page.

How to delete navigation?

To delete navigation, simply locate the navigation you wish to delete from your website and left click on it once. You will notice the "Object Toolbar" appear. Within the object toolbar, locate the "Trash Can" icon; it is the last icon to the right. Left click on the "Trash Can" icon and the following statement will appear: "Are You Sure You Want To Remove This Object?", if your are certain, left click "Ok", if not, left click "Cancel".

Note: You are able to make navigation "Master Objects". A Master Object is an item that you wish to appear on your website on every page in the exact same location. If you delete an object that is a "Master Object" it will delete it off every page. Be very careful when deleting master objects from your website.

How to move navigation?

With drag-and-drop technology, moving navigation could not be easier! To move navigation, simply left click on the navigation once and you will see the "Object Toolbar" appear.

Note: If you left click on the text of the navigation, you will be taken directly to the page and not the "Object Toolbar". Please left click in the space between the page names.

Once the toolbar appears, left click & hold over the navigation and drag-and-drop your navigation to wherever you desire.

Note: You are able to make navigation a "Master Objects". A Master Object is an item that you wish to appear on your website on every page in the exact same location. If you move navigation that is a "Master Object" it will move it on every page. Be very careful when moving master objects on your website.

Before you move navigation forwards and backwards, you must understand that the Handzon Application is a 3 dimensional program; it allows you to place objects one on top of the other.

To move navigation in back of an object, simply left click on the navigation once and you will notice the "Object Toolbar" appear.

Note: If you left click on the text of the navigation, you will be taken directly to the page and not the "Object Toolbar". Please left click in the space between the page names.

On the toolbar you are going to left click on the "Down Arrow"; the third icon from the left. Simply left click on the down arrow until the navigation is behind the object.

Note: You may have to left click several times to have the navigation move behind the object.

How to move navigation in front of an object?

Before you move navigation forwards and backwards, you must understand that the Handzon Application is a 3 dimensional program; it allows you to place objects one on top of the other.

To move navigation in front of an object, simply left click on the navigation once and you will notice the "Object Toolbar" appear.

Note: If you left click on the text of the navigation, you will be taken directly to the page and not the "Object Toolbar". Please left click in the space between the page names.

On the toolbar you are going to left click on the "Up Arrow"; the fourth icon from the left. Simply left click on the up arrow until the navigation is in front of the object.

Note: You may have to left click several times to have the navigation move in front of the object.

How to stretch navigation?

To stretch navigation, simply left click on the navigation once and you will notice the "Object Toolbar" appear.

Note: If you left click on the text of the navigation, you will be taken directly to the page and not the "Object Toolbar". Please left click in the space between the page names.

On the toolbar you are going to left click on the "Stretch Layer" icon; the third icon from the right. Simply left click on the "Stretch Layer" icon and you will notice red cross hairs appear around the navigation. Move your cursor to the bottom right of the navigation until you see a "Slanting Double Arrow" appear. Once the "Slanting Double Arrow" appears, left click and hold the mouse button while you stretch your navigation out to your desire.

Note: You are able to make navigation "Master Objects". A Master Object is an item that you wish to appear on your website on every page in the exact same location. If you stretch an object that is a "Master Object" it will stretch it on every page. Be very careful when stretching master objects on your website.

How to view navigation properties?

To view the properties of navigation, simply left click on the navigation once and you will notice the "Object Toolbar" appear.

Note: If you left click on the text of the navigation, you will be taken directly to the page and not the "Object Toolbar". Please left click in the space between the page names.

On the toolbar you are going to left click on the "Layer Properties" icon; the second icon from the right. Simply left click on the "Layer Properties" and you will have the "Edit Object Properties" window appear.

How to rename navigation object?

To rename a navigation object, simply left click on the navigation once and you will notice the "Object Toolbar" appear.

Note: If you left click on the text of the navigation, you will be taken directly to the page and not the "Object Toolbar". Please left click in the space between the page names.

On the toolbar you are going to left click on the "Layer Properties" icon; the second icon from the right. Left click on the "Layer Properties" and you will have the "Edit Object Properties" window appear.

Within the "Edit Object Properties" window, the first section is titled "Object Name:". Within this section, simply delete the title and rename your navigation object. Once complete, left click on "Ok" at the bottom of the window.

How to position a navigation object on x and y axis?

To position navigation on the x and y axis, simply left click on the navigation once and you will notice the "Object Toolbar" appear.

Note: If you left click on the text of the navigation, you will be taken directly to the page and not the "Object Toolbar". Please left click in the space between the page names.

On the toolbar you are going to left click on the "Layer Properties" icon; the second icon from the right. Left click on the "Layer Properties" and you will have the "Edit Object Properties" window appear.

Within the "Edit Object Properties" window, the fourth section is titled "X Position: Y Position:". Within this section, simply enter the number of where you want your navigation to be placed. Once complete, left click on "Ok" at the bottom of the window.

Note: The "X Position" runs horizontally, while the "Y Position" runs vertically.

Note: You are able to make navigation "Master Objects". A Master Object is an item that you wish to appear on your website on every page in the exact same location. If you reposition an object that is a "Master Object" it will reposition it on every page. Be very careful when repositioning master objects on your website.

How to change a navigation objects width and height?

To change navigation width and height, simply left click on the text once and you will notice the "Object Toolbar" appear.

Note: If you left click on the text of the navigation, you will be taken directly to the page and not the "Object Toolbar". Please left click in the space between the page names.

On the toolbar you are going to left click on the "Layer Properties" icon; the second icon from the right. Left click on the "Layer Properties" and you will have the "Edit Object Properties" window appear. Within the "Edit Object Properties" window, the fifth section is titled "Object Width: Object Height:". Within this section, simply enter the number of how wide and tall you wish to stretch your navigation. Once complete, left click on "Ok" at the bottom of the window.

Note: You are able to make navigation "Master Objects". A Master Object is an item that you wish to appear on your website on every page in the exact same location. If you edit navigation that is a "Master Object" it will edit it on every page. Be very careful when editing master objects on your website.

How to make navigation a normal object?

Note: By default, all navigation is a "Normal" object.

To make navigation a "Normal" object, simply left click on the navigation once and you will notice the "Object Toolbar" appear.

Note: If you left click on the text of the navigation, you will be taken directly to the page and not the "Object Toolbar". Please left click in the space between the page names.

On the toolbar you are going to left click on the "Layer Properties" icon; the second icon from the right. Left click on the "Layer Properties" and you will have the "Edit Object Properties" window appear. Within the "Edit Object Properties" window, the sixth section is titled "What Type Of Layer Is This?". Within this section, simply select "Normal". Once complete, left click on "Ok" at the bottom of the window.

Note: A "Normal" object will only appear on the current page you are working on.

How to make navigation a master object?

To make navigation a "Master" object, simply left click on the navigation once and you will notice the "Object Toolbar" appear.

Note: If you left click on the text of the navigation, you will be taken directly to the page and not the "Object Toolbar". Please left click in the space between the page names.

On the toolbar you are going to left click on the "Layer Properties" icon; the second icon from the right. Left click on the "Layer Properties" and you will have the "Edit Object Properties" window appear. Within the "Edit Object Properties" window, the sixth section is titled "What Type Of Layer Is This?". Within this section, simply select "Master". Once complete, left click on "Ok" at the bottom of the window.

Note: A "Master" object will appear on every page of your website at the exact same location on the x and y axis.

How to make navigation a reusable object?

To make navigation a "Reusable" object, simply left click on the navigation once and you will notice the "Object Toolbar" appear.

Note: If you left click on the text of the navigation, you will be taken directly to the page and not the "Object Toolbar". Please left click in the space between the page names.

On the toolbar you are going to left click on the "Layer Properties" icon; the second icon from the right. Left click on the "Layer Properties" and you will have the "Edit Object Properties" window appear. Within the "Edit Object Properties" window, the sixth section is titled "What Type Of Layer Is This?". Within this section, simply select "Reusable". Once complete, left click on "Ok" at the bottom of the window.

Note: A "Reusable" object is an object that you have already inserted into your website and want it to appear on specific pages of your website.

How to make an external link from a navigation object?

To make an external link from a navigation object, simply left click on the navigation object once and you will notice the "Object Toolbar" appear. On the toolbar you are going to left click on the "Layer Properties" icon; the second icon from the right. Left click on the "Layer Properties" and you will have the "Edit Object Properties" window appear.

Within the "Edit Object Properties" window, the second section is titled "Make Link To External Page". Within this section, simply enter the website address you would like to create a link to. Once complete, left click on "Ok" at the bottom of the window.

How to make an internal link from a navigation object?

To make an internal link from a navigation object, simply left click on the navigation object once and you will notice the "Object Toolbar" appear. On the toolbar you are going to left click on the "Layer Properties" icon; the second icon from the right. Left click on the "Layer Properties" and you will have the "Edit Object Properties" window appear.

Within the "Edit Object Properties" window, the third section is titled "Make Link To Internal Pages". Within this section, simply select the pages you wish to link to. Once complete, left click on "Ok" at the bottom of the window.

Insert Object > Navigation > Navigation Scheme > List All Pages > What is List All Pages?

Selecting the "List All Pages" for your "Navigation Scheme" will display all the pages that have been inserted into your website.

Note: The navigation scheme automatically updates itself whenever a page is inserted or deleted from your website.

Insert Object > Navigation > Navigation Scheme > Sibling (Neighbor) > What is Sibling (Neighbor)?

Selecting the Sibling (Neighbor) for your "Navigation Scheme" will only display the pages inserted to the right or left of the page you are currently working on, including the page you are working on.

Note: The navigation scheme automatically updates itself whenever a page is inserted or deleted from your website.

Insert Object > Navigation > Navigation Scheme > Child (Subpage) > What is Child (Subpage)?

Selecting the "Child (History Trail)" for your "Navigation Scheme" will only display only the "Sub-Pages" of the page you are currently working on, excluding the page you are on.

Note: The navigation scheme automatically updates itself whenever a page is inserted or deleted from your website.

Insert Object > Navigation > Navigation Scheme > Parent (History Trail) > What is Parent (History Trail)?

Selecting the "Parent (History Trail)" for your "Navigation Scheme" will only display every page you must go through to get back to "Home Page" and vice versa.

Note: The navigation scheme automatically updates itself whenever a page is inserted or deleted from your website.

Insert Object > Navigation > Navigation Layout > Horizontal > What is Horizontal layout?

Selecting the "Horizontal Layout" will allow you to display your navigation from right to left.

Insert Object > Navigation > Navigation Layout > Vertical > What is Vertical layout?

Selecting the "Vertical Layout" will allow you to display your navigation from top to bottom.

Insert Object > Navigation > Navigation Layout > Drop Down List > What is Drop Down List layout?

Selecting the "Drop Down List Layout" will allow you to display your navigation within a drop-down list.

Insert Object > Navigation > Navigation Style > Font Style > What is Font Style?

The font style drop down list allows you to select one of the following Internet ready fonts for your navigation you are currently working with: Arial, Courier New, Helvetica, Times New Roman or Verdana.

Insert Object > Navigation > Navigation Style > Font Size > What is Font Size?

The font size allows you to select the font size from size 8 to 48 for the font you have selected for the navigation you are currently working with.

Insert Object > Navigation > Navigation Style > Font Color > What is Font Color?

The font color allows you to select the color for the font you have choosen for your navigation you are currently working with.

Insert Object > Navigation > Navigation Style > Background Color > What is Background Color?

The background color allows you to select the background color for the navigation area you are currently working with.

The left alignment allows you to left align the navigation you are currently working with.
